CEO of Sherpa Watches
Sherpa Watches is a young, independent watch company from Germany dedicated to creating unique and highest-quality timepieces with strong historic roots for today’s market. "Sherpa" as a name appeared first on a watch in 1956 after a Swiss expedition to Mt. Everest and Lhotse. The discovery that the Sherpas were the incredible backbone of the expedition led to naming the best and most robust watches Sherpa.
As their watches bear the Sherpa brand name, they would like to give something back to the region and support beneficial projects and organizations. This is why they chose to support us, among other projects in Khumbu. For each sale of their watches, they give a portion to Sagarmatha Next.
"We chose Sagarmatha Next, because we appreciate the down-to-earth, grassroots, and very practical approach to innovate and improve the waste recycling in the Sagarmatha national park. We believe in local initiatives and love Sagarmatha Next’s actions. We also connect the Sherpa name to the Sherpa culture on a deeply felt heart level, as we put two micro prayer wheels in the Tibetan-Buddhist tradition into the mechanical watch movement which rotate the mantra "om mani meme hung“ more than 30 millions times per year."
